Castle Mountain’s Huckleberry Festival is back again this August for the 23rd annual running of the event! While the essence of Huckleberry Festival remains just as it always has, there are a few new additions to this year’s festival to make it bigger and better than ever!
Family Fun All Weekend Long
Last year we made the leap to make Huckleberry Festival a full weekend long event; this year is no exception. While the busiest day of the festival is expected to be Saturday, the Huckleberry Chairlift will also be spinning on Sunday as well.
Wondering what to do with the kids? Bring them along! Live music in the base area is decidedly PG and there’s lots for the kids to do including crafts, face painting, interpretive exhibits, and of course chairlift rides (children 5 & under are even free)!
For this year’s Huckleberry Festival, we’ve expanded our live music offering, bringing us to more than 20 hours of live music, over the course of the weekend!
New for 2018 is the addition of a musical act on Friday night, outside on the Huckleberry Stage, more music throughout the day on Saturday, as well as an additional act on Sunday afternoon.

All Access Pass Returns
Last year, to great fanfare, we launched the Huckleberry Festival all-access pass. Available to Adults (13 +) for $79 & for children (6 – 12) at a cost of $49 the pass ties together food, beverage, and experiences during the weekend and even leaves you with a commemorative pass to take home! Passes are available online until August 22nd. The pass includes:
- Access to festival grounds
- Unlimited scenic chairlift rides both days
- Buffet Breakfast on both Saturday & Sunday
- Commerative Huckleberry Fest pass
- Pig Roast / Roast Beef Dinner on Saturday
- 1 BBQ Lunch (Saturday or Sunday)
Admission to festival grounds remains free of charge, as always, with meals, beverages, and lift rides available at cost. Some food and beverage experiences, such as our Friday night Full Moon Hike & Fine Dining Experience and Saturday evening’s pig roast are sure to sell out. For these experiences we recommend purchasing your ticket in advance by calling 403-627-5101 or 888-SKI-TONS (toll free).
Full Moon Fine Dining Series
This winter you may have caught wind of our Full Moon Snowshoe & Fine Dining Experience. Throughout the winter more than 150 guests were treated to amazing winter adventure paired with exquisite food and drink. Well, with our 23rd annual Huckleberry Festival just around the corner, we thought we’d bring back this decadent adventure; this time without need for the snowshoes (don’t forget your hikers though)!
Our Full Moon Hike & Fine Dining Experience will feature a special upload on the Huckleberry Chairlift, to help eliminate the majority of the uphill associated with the hike, which will take us to our renowned Haig Lake. Along the way you’ll be regaled with history of Castle Mountain Resort and the Westcastle region, in addition to learning about some of the important environmental significance of our area. After a snack and a stop at the lake, you’ll be guided back to the resort base area where you’ll enjoy an additional 6 course fine dining experience.
Starting at $119.99 / person. For complete details, click here.
Extended T-Bar Pub Hours
This year we’re extending our T-Bar Pub hours on Sunday. Last year a number of late afternoon hikers returned to the base area without the ability to cap their adventure off with a cold one.
On Sunday live music will run through to 5:00 PM with the T-Bar Pub remaining open until 8:00 PM.
Come One, Come All
Huckleberry Festival is not just a summer homecoming for Castle locals, it’s a family friendly festival rooted in folk music and great food. If you haven’t been before, well…don’t take our word for it. Click on the Play Outside Guide for their first hand experience at last year’s festival!
We’ll see you here!
