The Spring of 2012 has been relatively warm and uneventful, in regards to weather. However, the local animals have been very active this srping. The resident Geese that live in the Westcastle Ecological Reserve have a new gaggle of Goslings. Please drive careful when you are comingand going from the Resort.

Moose, both young and old, are munching on all the new buds that are coming out. Most of them look like they need a good brushing but it is recommended that you never get close enough to do this. The new little ones should be popping up in the next couple of weeks.
There has been a number of bear sightings this spring. Many of the sightings have been females with multiple cubs which is a good sign that the bear population is healthy around here. So far they have been much more interested in the grasses and budding trees. Please help keep it this way by properly disposing of your garbage and not leaving any potential food sources around. These pictures are proof that local bears can climg trees very well. I would probably be falling out of that tree if I tried to climb that high.
