Spring Fest (Slush Cup / Cardboard Canoe Race)

Slush Cup Rules & Details

 

Go full send and try to waterski / ride across our huge man-made pond! Not up for participating? Don’t worry, this is one of the best spectating events of the season!

Details

  • Registration and/or check-in will take place at CMR Guest Services between 8 AM and 12:30 PM. Registrations after 12:30 PM will not be accepted.
  • All participants must read and sign a CMR Special Event Waiver at the time of check-in.
    • Those under the age of 18 require the signature of a parent / legal guardian.
  • The Slush Cup will start promptly at 1 PM. All participants must be at the slush pit location by this time.
  • The Slush Cup will be located at the bottom of the Whiskey Jack run.
  • Dress to get wet! All participants are encouraged to bring a towel / change of clothing.

Rules

  • Each participant will receive one (1) run through the slush cup course. Sorry, additional runs are not permitted.
  • Location of the starting point will be determined by Castle Mountain Resort officials.
  • All participants must wear a helmet
  • Participants may not leave the starting gate without permission from the starter.
  • No inverted aerial maneuvers / jumps.
  • Absolutely no nudity. Costumes deemed inappropriate will result in disqualification.
  • Any guests deemed to be under the influence of drugs / alcohol will be disqualified and are unable to participate
  • A maximum of 80 participants will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.

Judging

Our panel of Slush Cup judges will select our 2019 champions in three categories: Biggest Splash, Best Form, & Best Costume.

Cardboard Canoe Race Rules & Details

 

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to make a canoe made of only cardboard & tape, and then to ride that canoe down Whisky Jack into our slush pit. Will you sink or swim?

Details

  • The Cardboard Canoe Race will start promptly at 2 PM. All participants must be at the slush pit location by this time.
  • The Slush Cup will be located at the bottom of the Whiskey Jack run.
  • Dress to get wet! All participants are encouraged to bring a towel / change of clothing.

Rules

  • Only one run per team / canoe.
  • There is no limit on the number of canoeists per boat
  • Only cardboard and tape may be used to make boats, and all boats will be inspected prior to sailing. Boats found to be constructed with materials other than cardboard and tape will not be eligible to participate
  • All boaters must wear a helmet and not be taped / tied to their boat for safety reasons
  • Life jackets, while not required, are recommended
  • Participants may not leave the starting gate without permission from the starter.
  • Absolutely no nudity. Costumes deemed inappropriate will result in disqualification.

  • A maximum of 20 canoes will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.

Judging

Creativity is key! Prizes will be awarded to the boating squad that shows the most enthusiasm and creativity in their canoe design.
