TOP REASONS TO OWN A CASTLE PASS

TOP REASONS TO OWN A CASTLE PASS

Our May 31st deadline for early bird season pass rates is quickly upcoming. There are lots of reasons to own a Castle Mountain Resort season pass but if you’re looking for a reminder, here are just a few reasons on why you should own a season pass this year:

Convenience

It’s a fact we work to hammer home each and every year. Who wants to stand in lift ticket lines with fidgeting children or when it’s shaping up to be a super pow day? Having a Castle Mountain Resort season pass means direct-to-lift access; no waiting for us to print you a ticket at our window rates. If you plan on spending lots of time at the resort this year, don’t get stuck in line.

Having a season pass also means not feeling guilty if you’re having an off-day and you’re just not feeling it. Visibility poor? Pow not deep enough? Enjoy a couple of runs and head home if the legs just don’t feel right or, heaven forbid, you’ve got to go to work.

Value / You’ll Ski More!

$799 for an adult season pass is not a small sum, we understand that 100%. However, neither is $95 at the window. Our best value, bar none, is our season pass. Family passes are even a better value. Dynamics are shifting and not every family is two adults and two or more children anymore; we totally get that! At our early bird sale rates a family of 3 can enjoy an entire season from only $797, plus GST (based on 1 adult, 2 children). Not interested in taking the leap as a family? Individual children’s passes are only $69 + GST. At less than the cost of two days at our regular window rates, you’d be crazy not to buy them one!

Unrestricted Castle Mountain Resort passes are also accompanied by Powder Alliance benefits garnering you up to 3 free or discounted days at 18 additional resorts across western North America and beyond. Not up for a road trip? We team up with dozens of other resorts, in British Columbia and Alberta, to provide you with reciprocal benefits which will generally net you 25% off at resorts that are not part of the Powder Alliance.

Last but not least, season pass holders ski / ride more than those without! If you want to ski / ride more this season then buying a pass is the best way to do so!

Shredding pow this past winter

You’re part of the family

Castle remains steadfast as one of the last true independent ski resorts out there. There’s something to be said for that. At Castle, a season pass is more than just something that gets you access to the lifts, it makes you part of the community.

“I was made to feel like family by the time we left and missed the small resort feeling of Castle when we finally moved on.” – Dan. W (Tripadvisor Review)

Here, secret stashes are shared and you can feel good that your season pass money is staying within our community. Castle is a major economic driver of winter tourism in southwestern Alberta and there’s no corporate overlord extracting your money to some far-away land.

Investing In Your Experience

Castle Mountain Resort completed its Master Development Plan (MDP for short) in the spring of 2017. The plan lays out plans for our resort for the decades to come. From new lifts, new runs, new base area facilities, snow making, and new places to stay and play, we are committed to ensuring the viability of this place that so many love. Changes will come slowly but signs of progress are already emerging such as:

  • The paving of highway 774 to the resort (completed in summer of 2018)
  • Sale of existing propane distribution system to ATCO Gas by Castle Mountain Resort (summer 2018) and agreement to install a natural gas line to Castle Mountain Resort from Beaver Mines (completion Fall 2019)
  • Installation of waterline from Beaver Mines to Castle Parks / Castle Mountain Resort (currently under construction)
  • Installation of Castle Mountain Resort’s first snow making reservoir (completed in fall of 2018)
  • Additional on-mountain infrastructure investment announcement pending (announcement June 2019)

The future is bright at Castle and we’re working hard to ensure that you’re winter experience with us is a great one. With your investment in us, we can continue to invest in ensuring that Castle Mountain Resort remains an important part of recreation for Albertan’s, for decades to come.
