Castle Mountain Resort has officially signed onto the Powder Alliance for the 2019-2020 season. The 2018-2019 season represented Castle’s first foray into a multi-resort, season pass alliance with hundreds of our pass holders taking advantage of up to 3 free / discounted days at 18 additional resorts across western North America and beyond.
Castle pass holders were found using most of their free / discounted days at Marmot Basin in Jasper, Schweitzer Mountain Resort in Idaho, Bridger Bowl Ski Area in Montana, and Whitewater Ski Resort in Nelson, BC with a handful venturing as far as Japan…yes JAPAN!

WHAT’S THE POWDER ALLIANCE?
The Powder Alliance is an alliance of 19 independently owned ski resorts, primarily located across western North America but also with one member resort in Japan and another in Chile. Powder Alliance resorts believe that multi-area season passes don’t need to be complicated. You can still buy a pass for your favourite, local & independent resort and have that pass take you further than ever before.
HOW DO I GET POWDER ALLIANCE BENEFITS?
Becoming eligible for Powder Alliance benefits is pretty simple as the benefits are already included with the majority of Castle season passes (except Huckleberry & Mid-Week passes).
All you need to do is to purchase an unrestricted season pass, at Castle Mountain Resort, and you have Powder Alliance benefits. There are no membership fees, no collective pass prices, and no additional charges of any kind in order to receive your benefits. Simply show up at Powder Alliance partner resorts when you want to avail of your benefits and show them your Castle pass (we’ve handled the rest behind the scenes).
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF THE POWDER ALLIANCE?
While there are lots of benefits associated with being a Powder Alliance member, the core benefit is the ability to ski up to 3 free or discounted days at 18 additional resorts beyond ours. Did you catch that…we did say 3 free or discounted days at 18 additional resorts, as in 3 at each of them (54 total free days possible).
Tickets for Powder Alliance members are free midweek at partner resorts and 50% off on weekends. Please note that some restrictions / holiday blackouts may apply so you will want to visit individual resort pages for complete details before heading out on your road trip.
Other benefits to the Powder Alliance members may include discounts on accommodations, food & beverage, rentals, and other activities at the resort or around town!
WON’T THE POWDER ALLIANCE RESULT IN A BUNCH MORE PEOPLE COMING TO CASTLE?
After our first year on the Alliance, the number of guests we saw from partner resorts numbered in the hundreds, not thousands.
While we hope to welcome more Powder Alliance member guests in the future, it’s important to remember that free days are doled out mid-week. This means the majority of people we see coming in affiliation with the Powder Alliance are coming during off-peak periods of time which means huge lift lines and tracked out terrain will never be due to our membership in this program.
