DESCRIPTION:Drifter Days are back – the annual\, volunteer brush clearing / thinning days on the Drifter run. \nVolunteers should meet at the Castle Mountain Resort maintenance shop at 8:00 AM. There will be a brief safety meeting before we leave for the top of the mountain. If you can’t be on time be 5 minutes early. \nTHE PLAN:\n\nThe mission for Drifter Days is to clear out deadfall on the slopes. Your knees & legs (and friends) will thank you for removing the dangers that hide below snow on these slopes.\nSplit into work groups based on the number of people that show up.\n1 – 2 helpers per person with a saw. If you don’t have a chainsaw\, we still need your muscles for removing / piling debris\, carrying jerry cans\, etc.\nAlternative Help – if you don’t want or are unable to work on the slope or don’t have much time\, we could use help with the following:\n\nTruck to transport equipment and volunteers\nDriving the crew to the top of the mountain in the morning\nPicking up the crew from Cinch Traverse at the end of the day\nMonitoring the radio during the day\n\n\n\nWHAT TO BRING:\n\nlunch and lots of water\nwork gloves\nhat\nprotective glasses\near protection\, if you have some\, we’ll round up some ear plugs as well\ngood solid footwear – work boots\, hiking boots\, etc. We will be working in rough terrain and on steep slopes\nsuitable clothes for rough work – no shorts\nChain saw if you have one\n\nIt always works out better if you operate your own saw\, please make sure it is sharpened and bring the correct file to sharpen the chain\, the wrench and screwdriver for the saw\nOnly bring enough gas and oil for the day\, no extra.\n\n\nRequired – protective chainsaw pants for those running equipment\nRadio – if you have access to a radio with a hill channel please bring it.\n\nBring a friend and pass the word along that we can use all the help we can get. \nFeel free to let Dennis Miller know if you can attend or if you have any questions you can email him at d516miller@gmail.com.

If you don’t have a chainsaw\, we still need your muscles for removing / piling debris\, carrying jerry cans\, etc.\nAlternative Help – if you don’t want or are unable to work on the slope or don’t have much time\, we could use help with the following:\n\nTruck to transport equipment and volunteers\nDriving the crew to the top of the mountain in the morning\nPicking up the crew from Cinch Traverse at the end of the day\nMonitoring the radio during the day\n\n\n\nWHAT TO BRING:\n\nlunch and lots of water\nwork gloves\nhat\nprotective glasses\near protection\, if you have some\, we’ll round up some ear plugs as well\ngood solid footwear – work boots\, hiking boots\, etc. We will be working in rough terrain and on steep slopes\nsuitable clothes for rough work – no shorts\nChain saw if you have one\n\nIt always works out better if you operate your own saw\, please make sure it is sharpened and bring the correct file to sharpen the chain\, the wrench and screwdriver for the saw\nOnly bring enough gas and oil for the day\, no extra.\n\n\nRequired – protective chainsaw pants for those running equipment\nRadio – if you have access to a radio with a hill channel please bring it.\n\nBring a friend and pass the word along that we can use all the help we can get. \nFeel free to let Dennis Miller know if you can attend or if you have any questions you can email him at d516miller@gmail.com.

This is your opportunity to push yourself to compete in the longest slalom race in the WORLD! The race begins near the top of our lift serviced area and goes all the way down 2\,800 + vertical feet to the base. Should you finish you will have achieved an incredible feat you can take with you forever. Information is as follows:\n\nREGISTRATION –\n\n\n\n\nRegistration is $15 in advance of race day and for $20 on the day of\, should any spots remain available. Click the “Register Now” link to reserve your spot.\nPlease note that a bib deposit of $20 (CASH ONLY) must be paid upon check-in. This is to assist us with ensuring bibs come back to us. With two 45-minute performances\, Hickey will take you on a sonic journey with the help of his crystal bowls and sound creation gongs. \nGuests are empowered to make themselves comfortable\, whether that’s sitting in a chair\, or by bringing a yoga mat to sit or lay down on. It is sure to be a relaxing night after a day of hitting the slopes! The performance will happen in the Day Lodge from 7 – 9 PM. \nTickets will not be available at the door\, but can be purchased online prior to the event!
