DESCRIPTION:The Castle Mountain Resort Skimo Races are Jan 9-11\, 2026\, with the following event slated to occur: \n\nVertical race\n\n4:00PM on Friday\, January 9\, 2026\n\n\nSprint race\n\n1:00 PM on Saturday\, January 10\, 2026\n\n\nIndividual race\n\n10:00 AM on Sunday\, January 11\, 2026\n\n\n\nA registration desk in the Barnaby Room (formerly Joe’s Cafe) will be open daily for bib pick ups\, waivers\, snacks. Awards will take place at 3 PM\, on Sunday\, on the CMR Day Lodge stage. \nAthletes holding the annual 2026 Skimo Canada license do not pay the single event license fee. Athletes without the 2026 Skimo Canada annual license pay the single event license fee ($35.00). The single event license fee covers all three races over the weekend. License fees assist Skimo Canada with operational expenses. \nThe Castle races are the first stop on the 2026 Canada Cup Skimo Race circuit. \n

They’re sitting around a few tables\, most likely with a few pints of Guinness within reach. Or\, maybe you’re strolling down the street in Glasgow or Inverness or anywhere else in Scotland and you’re drawn in by the sound of music and song emanating from a local pub. Or\, perhaps\, you’re somewhere in Atlantic Canada and you’ve stumbled on to an east coast kitchen party\, where local tunes are ringing out well into the evening. And\, what if you’re touring Cornwall in southeastern England and you hear a group of fishermen singing sea shanties! \nIf you envision yourself in one of these settings\, you’ll be hearing and singing along or tapping your feet to the music that you’ll find at a Celtic Routes concert or pub night.
