WildR and Castle Mountain Resort are proud to announce the 4th Edition of the WildR Rough Runner this year at its new location at Castle Mountain Resort.

“We are excited to move the Rough Runner to Castle” said Alecia Williams, Strength and Conditioning Coach and Owner of WildR. “It feels like we have found a home for the event. Moving the event to one of Alberta’s most beloved and vertically notorious destinations will challenge and reward participants like never before.  We look forward to organizing an event that showcases the mountains of the Westcastle Valley, and the history of this spot.  ”

“We are so happy to host a locally organized event such as the Rough Runner”, said Jason Crawford, Sales and Marketing Manager, “This is the perfect event to complement our facility and summer activities here at the Resort.”

The event will consist of 3 events over two days on June 1st & 2nd, 2018.

On Friday evening the Wild Vertical 100M Sprint, which will not be for the faint of heart.  This event will be a great test of competitors and amazing for spectators as runners will sprint upward 100m of vertical rise and 400m of distance.  There will be a fire, music and fun at the T-Bar Pub and Grub.

On Saturday there will be 2 events.  First the Rough Run which is a trail run that will cover roughly 9kms of trails.  Competitors can expect Snow, Mud, and Stunning Views.

The Main Event is the Rough Runner Obstacle Course Race which starts in the afternoon.  There will be 16-20 obstacles over the 5kms course.  Obstacles will combine heavy lifting, hill sprinting, rope climbs and more.
