BECOME ONE WITH NATURE
TIE THE KNOT IN ONE OF THE CANADIAN ROCKIES’ MOST STUNNING LOCATIONS, ADJACENT TO CASTLE PROVINCIAL PARK.
Whether you lean towards the elaborate or prefer a more intimate gathering, Castle Mountain Resort is the perfect venue for a memorable wedding in the mountains. Tucked away in the Canadian Rockies, at the literal end of the highway, there’s a sense of seclusion and exclusivity you’ll get at Castle that just isn’t possible in Banff or Canmore.Â
Our team is committed to ensuring one of the biggest days of your life is an exceptional one. Our resort prides itself on being a well priced Rocky Mountain wedding destination with a spacious reception venue, excellent food / beverage services, plenty of on-site accommodations, and an excellent compliment of staff.Â
Ceremony Site
Nestled amongst lush greenery and an impressive, mountainous backdrop our ceremony site will take your breath away. Enjoy picturesque views of Barnaby Ridge as you say your vows, sharing the experience with your closest and dearest. You and your guests will first enjoy the short, peaceful nature walk along the mowed Yeti Trail with less abled individuals able to take a ride in our ceremony site shuttle.
Once you reach the outlook, you’ll be greeted not only by stunning scenery but also by a fully set ceremony site (chairs, marriage table, PA system upon request). Simply add your arch, small touches of décor, and we’ll look after the rest.
Seating Capacity: 250
Reception Venue
Our reception space within the Day Lodge boasts an abundance of natural light, with a wonderful rustic feel. Wonderfully suited to groups of 100 – 250, the east end of our day lodge is most often set with reception tables while the west end features the dancefloor, a stage, an open space for mixing and mingling – most often during a cocktail hour period – and an attached, asphalt patio. The west end of the Day Lodge also often serves as “Plan B”, for the ceremony, in the event of inclement weather.
Enjoy a scrumptious dinner under the warmth of our string lights and grab a reasonably priced beverage from the bar. Don’t be afraid to bust a move on our dance floor!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is there a capacity limit?
We consider our maximum capacity, for both ceremonies and receptions, as 250 people.
How do I go about booking accommodation for my wedding?
A number of accommodation options are available at Castle Mountain Resort – from RV camping to stunning vacation homes. We suggest visiting our accommodations page (click here) so you can become familiar with all of the options available within our base area.
Do you have a food and/or beverage minimum or a minimum per person spend?
Castle Mountain Resort does enforce a food and beverage minimum on all reception events. Minimums vary dependent on the year and are included in our wedding package information PDF’s. Our knowledgeable Events Supervisor will be able to help you understand what and how much food you should consider ordering.
Food and beverage, with the exception of water, is not permitted on our ceremony site. Therefore, there is no food and/or beverage minimum imposed upon ceremony only bookings.
What happens if it rains?
For guests electing to make a ceremony & reception booking, the west end of the reception area (dance floor / cocktail area) commonly acts as a space for ceremonies, in the event of inclement weather.
For guests electing to pursue a ceremony only booking, if it rains on your special day there is little that we will be able to do except for pushing the time ahead or behind. Outdoor ceremonies are subject to the whims of mother nature and only guests who have booked their ceremony and reception with us will be guaranteed indoor space, for their ceremony, in the event of inclement weather.
What is the accessibility like?
Our ceremony site is fairly remote making it a bit difficult for people with limited mobility. However, we do offer a shuttle for those in need of a ride to the ceremony spot. Any further questions regarding site accessibility can be answered by our Events Supervisor.
Our reception venue is fully accessible.
What months of the year can weddings take place?
Weddings can be held annually from early June through to early October – usually 17 – 19 weeks in total.
Generally, we do not entertain weddings outside of this period, especially in winter. This is due to limited indoor space and the need to offer this space to day skiing / snowboarding guests. Winter exceptions can be made for small groups (40 and under), that may be able to be accommodated in one of our smaller, indoor function rooms.
What type of bar services do you offer?
CASH BAR –
In a cash bar scenario, each guest must pay for their drinks on an individual basis. Guests can pay through debit, credit (Visa or Mastercard), or cash.
TOONIE BAR* –
Guests will be charged $2 per drink or $4 in the case of a request for a double. The remaining balance associated with each drink will be routed to a master tab which will be invoiced to the bride / groom at the culmination of the event. Guests can pay with debit, credit (Visa or Mastercard), or cash.
DOUBLE TOONIE BAR* –
Guests will be charged $4 per drink or $8 in the case of a request for a double. The remaining balance associated with each drink will be routed to a master tab which will be invoiced at the culmination of the event. Guests can pay with debit, credit (Visa or Mastercard), or cash.
DRINK TICKETS* –
Guests will be supplied with tickets to hand the bartender, in exchange for a beverage of their choosing (no payment required by the guest). Tickets are usually limited to 2-3 per person. Only drink tickets redeemed will be charged to the master tab (IE: if you distributed 250 drink tickets and only 210 were redeemed, only 210 drinks will be billed out).
HOST BAR* –
Often confused with open bar – the host is to pay the bar tab on drinks that have been consumed. Drinks served are tracked so that accurate invoicing can / does occur. You only pay for what is actually consumed.
*Please note that a deposit, in the expected total amount of the tab, is required for this service prior to the start of the event.
A combination of the service styles above is possible. It is not uncommon, as an example, for a toonie bar to be in effect for a cocktail hour period with a cash bar to be in effect after that period of time. It is requested that service style changes be time based (IE: toonie bar from 5 PM to 6:30 PM and cash bar thereafter) and not based on a dollar amount. Castle Mountain Resort will not guarantee bar service cut-offs, based on dollar amounts.
MEET OUR TEAM
ALEX BUROVA – EVENTS SUPERVISOR
Hi! I’m Alex, and I have the pleasure of being the Events Supervisor here at Castle Mountain Resort.
I swapped life in Calgary for the calm and grandeur of the Rockies and I haven’t looked back. I’ve been planning events since 2017, from intimate gatherings to large-scale celebrations, and weddings quickly became my favorite. There’s something magical about being part of such a meaningful day, especially when I get to witness a couple’s vows. Honestly, it often feels like I’m watching a movie unfold in real life!
When I’m not helping couples tie the knot, you’ll probably find me exploring mountain trails of all levels. I love sharing the best spots to soak in the scenery and unwind after the excitement of the big day.
Planning your wedding is my passion, and I’m here to make sure your day is as smooth, joyful, and unforgettable as the love you’re celebrating.
ERICA WARLOW – EXECUTIVE CHEF
I joined Castle’s management team, as Executive Chef, in early 2023. My role is to lead our culinary team both in planning and execution. Whether it’s developing our menus, testing new dishes, securing ingredients, or delivering on the day of a function, I’m there!
I have been working in the hospitality industry, leading and operating a restaurant for over twenty years. I have extensive experience in designing and implementing trendy, multi-cultural cuisines into menu items, and serving up to three hundred guests at a variety of venues in the Elk Valley and Southern Alberta. Food has been a lifelong passion and I strive for perfection in every dish!
When I’m not in the office or the kitchen, at Castle, you can find me outdoors!
