Volunteer With Us

SHARE YOUR LOVE FOR THE CASTLE AND GET REWARDED

FROM DAY TICKETS TO SEASON LONG PASSES, THERE ARE DEFINITELY PERKS ASSOCIATED WITH PITCHING IN!

We are currently looking for a few good humans – true lovers of the Castle – to join us in a volunteer capacity. Volunteer opportunities generally exist from early December to early April, each year.

Volunteers are called upon at various times during the season, including for our volunteer mountain host program which runs on weekends and holidays on a season long basis. Other volunteer opportunities generally revolve around assisting in the set-up and execution of events at the resort.

Mountain Hosts provide a warm welcome to guests of Castle Mountain Resort and serve as a helpful source of information to our visitors. Our host program is a vital component in ensuring an exceptional experience for all guests of the resort.

Mountain Hosts are booked in on all weekends and during key holiday periods (such as the Christmas holiday break and Family Week). Each Mountain Host shift is a half day in nature (running from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM).

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE?

We’re so glad you asked! All Mountain Host shifts are a half day (4 hours) with an early start. A typical day looks as follows:

8:30 AM

Sign-in & pick-up our daily, internal information bulletin (affectionally dubbed “TOM” – Today on the Mountains)

8:30 AM – 10:15 AM

Provide direction to guests arriving at the resort, in the vicinity of the Guest Services entrance / ticket windows

10:15 AM to 10:30 AM

Enjoy a break!

10:30 AM

Arrive at base area trail map and liaise with guests who may wish to take a mountain tour.

10:40 AM – 12:25 PM

Conduct Mountain Tour (1 host for intermediate level and 1 host for advanced level participants)

12:30 PM

Sign-out at Guest Services (we’d continue skiing, if we were you)!

We strive to bring on a minimum of 2 hosts per day on weekends and during key holiday periods (Christmas Holidays and Family Week).

On a temporary basis, we are seeking volunteer assistance with masking and Restrictions Exemption Program (REP) compliance, within the Day Lodge and T-Bar Pub.

Indoor Hosting is a half day (4 hour) role, occurring from 11 AM – 3 PM on all weekends (Saturday + Sunday) and holidays.

Duties may include:
  • Relieving CMR door hosts, for breaks, and conducting REP compliance checks on all guests who enter the Day Lodge.
  • Acting as a door host and conducting REP compliance checks on all guests who enter the T-Bar Pub.
