BREWS IN THE BASE
Join us for Brews in the Base, Castle Mountain Resort’s inaugural Craft Beer Festival, celebrating Alberta’s incredible craft beverage scene in the heart of the Rockies.
Spend the afternoon sampling craft beer, cider, spirits, and ready-to-drink beverages from Alberta producers while enjoying live music, local vendors, brewer and distiller talks, and Castle Alpine Trail Race festivities.

Meet the Makers
Throughout the afternoon, representatives from participating breweries, distilleries, cideries, and beverage producers will share the stories and processes behind their products. Learn about ingredients, brewing and distilling techniques, fermentation, flavour development, and what makes Alberta’s craft beverage industry unique.
How Sampling Works
Brews in the Base is a sampling-only event. Guests purchase sample tokens from Castle Mountain Resort and use them to enjoy pours from participating vendors.

Enjoy live acoustic music throughout the afternoon.
2:45 PM — Beer Flavour Challenge
Put your palate to the test! Taste a beer and try to identify its dominant flavour or aroma notes. The closest—or most creative—answer wins a small prize.
3:15 PM — Meet the Brewers / Brewery Spotlight
Meet representatives from participating breweries, hear the stories behind their beers, and ask questions about what goes into each pour.
3:45 PM — Educational Talk
4:00 PM — Beer Stein Holding Challenge
Think you’ve got what it takes? Hold a full beer stein at arm’s length for as long as possible. Last person standing wins!
4:45 PM — Educational Talk
5:15 PM — People’s Choice / Final Tastings
Enjoy your final samples and cast your vote for your favourite beverage of the festival.
5:30 PM — Festival Wrap-Up & Thank You
We’ll announce the People’s Choice winner, thank our participating vendors and performers, and officially close out the festival.
