It’s that time of year again…Family Day Weekend is arriving at Castle this weekend and we have a ton of fun events going on for all ages. Conveniently placed in one blog post read on for all the goings on that will be happening at the resort this weekend!
KIDS SCAVENGER HUNT
Lets start with the kids huh? Our annual on-mountain scavenger hunt is back where we will be posting letters across Blue runs on Huckleberry and off Blue Chair and on the Green runs on Green chair. Kids will be tasked with discovering all the letters that spell out a secret word. Work out the secret word and come to the stage in the Day Lodge to fill out an entry form to win our prize pack of the day! Prize draws will be happening every day at 3:30 PM in the Day Lodge.
Full outline of the scavenger hunt is as follows:
Saturday, February 15 – Blue Runs on Huckleberry Zone (6 letters)
Sunday, February 16 – Blue Runs off of Blue Chair (6 letters)
Monday, February 17 – Green Runs on Green Chair (3 letters)
COOKIE DECORATING
Let the kids (and adults) get creative with cookie decorating happening in the Day Lodge Saturday, Sunday and Monday between 1 PM – 3:30 PM. It is absolutely free to take part in and the best part about it is you get to eat what you create! We look forward to seeing all of your designs.
WINTER BAR
You’ve just come down from the slopes and now it’s time to enjoy a refreshing beverage in our one-off outside winter bar. Between 11 AM – 3 PM treat yourself to a hot chocolate and warm apple cider located outside the main day lodge facing Sundance (Blue) Chair. Optional alcoholic add ons will be available.
T-BAR LIVE MUSIC – STARPAINTER & BAILEY KATE
Listen to the melodic sounds of Alberta-based folk band Starpainter who will be joined by the angelic voice of Bailey Kate as they will be our live music performing in the T-Bar Saturday night. Joined together these two artists make quite the performance! Live music starts at 9 PM and is free to attend (no cover charge).
NIGHT SKIING ON GREEN
Ski under the stars this weekend with our second installment of Night Skiing on Green where most runs off Green will be accessible, including the progression park. What’s more we will be holding a bonfire out the front of the lodge with FREE smores! Yes that’s right, free smores! Grab your gear and hit the slopes between 5 PM – 8 PM with smores being offered 6 PM – 7:30 PM. Tickets are $10 for night skiing, $5 for W.O.W. Card holders and free for season pass holders. Purchase your tickets through the Snow School desk.
HOURS OF OPERATION
Wondering when we will be open? Holiday hours will be in effect from February 15th – 23rd. In essence that means extended Guest Services hours, early openings for the T-Bar Pub, 7-day / week childcare, and more. Click here for complete info on our operational hours over the holiday weekend / week.
