The Holiday season is upon us and here’s what you need to know about what’s happening at Castle Mountain Resort!
CHRISTMAS DAY
As is traditionally known here at Castle we will be operating under reduced hours and terrain. Hours of operation will be 11 AM – 3 PM, and we will be spinning Huckleberry, Green and Buckaroo only.
As always, Santa will be shredding the slopes and you can find him on available terrain from 11 AM – 12 NOON. Feel free to join him as he ski’s down! Pictures with Santa will look a little different this year as we are not allowing this to take place in the day lodge. Instead photos will be taken outside in the base area. Don’t miss out on our Candy Cane hunt, taking place in the Green Chair zone all day.
Special lift ticket rates will be in effect including:
- Adult (18 – 64) – $50.95
- Senior (65 – 74) – $42.95
- Junior (13 – 17) – $37.95
- Child (6 – 12) – $19.95

NIGHT SKIING
Night skiing is back! Hit the slopes after hours with our first session which takes place on December 27th & 28th where we will be operating Green Chair between the hours of 5 PM – 8 PM. Tickets are $10 or $5 for WOW card holders.
Due to restrictions the day lodge will remain closed throughout this night skiing event with access to washrooms and takeout window “Sundance Snack Shack” only. Takeout from the T-bar Pub will still be available.
From our family to yours, we wish you all a happy and healthy holiday season from Castle Mountain Resort.
Sounds Wonderful! Your efforts in making this a happy and safe season are truly appreciated!
Thanks Rhonda, Happy Holidays 🙂
If we go skiing my son usually just hangs out in the lodge. Is this still possible if we go NYE?
Hi Kleora,
Hanging out in the day lodge is simply not possible at this time, for any more than a brief warm-up break. Our day lodge is at 15% capacity and we will ask guests who have stayed over 30 minutes to make room for other guests in need of shelter and/or a brief warm-up. If you are looking for a place to hang out for the day, we suggest looking at an overnight stay or seeking shelter within the comfort of your vehicle. We know this isn’t necessarily the most ideal scenario but thank you for understanding during this challenging time!

Hi, Castle Folk. I’m coming to ski for three days (Jan 2, 3,4) for the first time. So looking forward to seeing the Castle slopes. Any advice for a senior (67 yrs) skier of moderate to advanced ability? What slopes shall I try? And if I was to come half-day for each day, should I buy tickets in advance?
Hi Ken,
Happy to hear you are making it out here! Definitely start off in our Huckleberry zone where we have plenty of blues to get you warmed up. As well as some great glade skiing in amongst the trees. Once you are all warmed up head up our Sundance (Blue) Chair which is accessible from the base. This gives you access to lots more terrain and some runs you could do are Mouse Trap, Jelly Roll, Centre, and Goat Glades which are black diamond runs. North Run is a long green which gives you access to additional blacks whilst giving you a nice view of the resort. Once you’ve done that head up our Tamarack (Red) Chair which takes you to the top of the mountain where we have a plethora of advanced and expert runs. Try Drifter for a fun and challenging run with great views.
In terms of tickets, we are currently advising everybody to purchase in advance due to a recently introduced cap on lift tickets and as we are currently in our peak time for the season which includes those dates you intend on coming down. There is no half-day ticket available for pre-purchase unfortunately. Please visit https://www.skicastle.ca/tickets for full details and how to book.
Thanks!
