Many people dream of going cat skiing. For some, it’s cost prohibitive and for others they just might not have the skills yet required to ski deep pow, on advanced terrain. But many skiers and snowboarders have always longed to travel the mountains by snow cat; there’s a certain romance about it, if you will.
At Castle Mountain Resort you’ll soon have the chance to climb aboard our Powder Stagecoach for our all new scenic snow cat tour. Whisking you high onto Haig Ridge, you’ll enjoy hot chocolate and snacks at the top of the world, witnessing stunning alpine vistas while you do. This is a non-skiing activity and all that’s required is warm clothing for the chairlift ride up to meet the cat, in addition to coming in handy for when you stop ridge top, for your photo op.
What’s Included:
- Scenic chairlift ride up the Huckleberry Chair to meet your snow cat
- Snow cat tour along Haig Ridge, then circumnavigating our nearly 900 acre cat-skiing area
- Snacks and hot chocolate at our viewpoint stop, high atop Haig Ridge
- As an added bonus, a $10 T-Bar Pub voucher is included for each guest
Experience Timeline:
3:45 pm Check in at CMR Guest Services no later than 3:45 PM. A scenic cat tour coordinator will standby with you and escort your group to the Huckleberry Chairlift.
4:00 pm Upload Huckleberry Chairlift by 4 PM, accompanied by your scenic cat tour host.
4:15 pm Board the Powder Stagecoach snow cat near 4:15 PM.
4:45 pm Arrive ridge top near 4:45 PM where you’ll stop for photos and enjoy hot chocolate & snacks.
6:00 pm The cat will descend from the alpine, around our cat-ski terrain, with a return to the base area in the vicinity of 6 PM.
6:00 pm onward Enjoy some great food and drink in the T-Bar Pub as you put your $10 voucher to use!
When Can I Go?
Our initial scenic snow cat tours will take place on Saturday, December 30, 2017 and Saturday, January 06, 2018. Additional departures will be scheduled in the near future.
