Well it’s that time of the year again, Family Day Weekend / Week is upon us and although things may look a little different this year we still have a lot going on for you and your families to enjoy!
EVENTS & ACTIVITIES
While events have largely been cancelled this season, in light of COVID-19 restrictions, we do have a few activities happening this Family Day Weekend.
Night Skiing
Following the success of our first set of night skiing dates, over the Christmas holiday season, we will be running 2 more nights during Family Day Weekend! Come and ski & ride after hours on Feb 14th & 15th in our Green Chair zone where we will also have the progression park open.
Our day lodge cafeteria and seating area will remain closed throughout this night skiing event although washrooms will remain available for use. Takeout food / beverage service from either the Sundance Snack Shack take out window or the T-bar Pub will also be available.
Tickets are $10, $5 for WOW Card holders and, as always, free for season pass holders with skiing under the lights available from 5 PM to 8 PM.

Kid’s Scavenger Hunt
Our annual on-mountain scavenger hunt is back where we will be posting letters across Blue runs on Huckleberry, off Blue Chair, and on the Green runs on Green chair. Kids will be tasked with discovering all the letters that spell out a secret word.
Work out the secret word and come to the stage in the Day Lodge to fill out an entry form to win our prize pack of the day!
Saturday, February 13th – Blue Runs on Huckleberry Zone (6 letters)
Sunday, February 14th – Blue Runs off of Blue Chair (6 letters)
Monday, February 15th – Green Runs on Green Chair (4 letters)

GRAB YOUR TICKETS EARLY
Family Day Weekend has traditionally been a busier time for us here at Castle Mountain Resort. With this in mind and due to limited day tickets being available, it is more important than ever to plan your days in advance. February 12th – 15th in particular is looking to be the busiest period of Family Day Weekend / Week where we do expect to sell out of tickets daily.
Head over to our tickets page to view live availability and to book online now.
SNOW SCHOOL PROGRAMS
What better time to improve your children’s skills on the slopes than our holiday camps! These 3 day camps are fun, interactive and are available to kids aged between 3 & 13 years of age for all ability levels. Holiday camps involve 3 full days of instruction and will run Feb 13th – 15th.
If a three day camp isn’t for you / your children, private lessons and beginner lesson packages are also available, head over to our Snow School page or phone snow school today on 403-627-5101 x 231 to speak to a snow school expert today.
SAFETY PROTOCOLS
With another busy period upon us it is important to highlight our safety protocols in place. An increase in skier/rider visitation will result in busier lift lines so please stay distanced from the person in front of you. Face coverings are mandatory in the base area, in lift lines, on lifts and lift unloads, and more now than ever it is vital that you adhere to these rules.
In addition we are expecting our Day Lodge to see increased visitation so please limit your time to allow others to come in and order food and drink. Know before you go! For complete details on what to expect, including our COVID-19 safety protocols, please click here.
That’s it from this blog post, if you have any additional questions please do not hesitate to phone the resort at 403-627-5101 and we would be happy to answer any queries!
Have a great family day weekend!
Is there skating there?
Also what would it cost for someone to teach my son to snowboard?
Hi Andrea,
Unfortunately we do not have skating here. With regards to snowboard lessons we have a variety on offer depending on your son’s age and ability. Please visit the below link for full info on what is on offer at our snow school.
