It’s Freeride Festival Weekend at Castle Mountain Resort, featuring our IFSA sanctioned Freeski / Freeride event. A special welcome to all the athletes, parents, coaches, and friends who are visiting us this weekend! Below is a brief run down of what’s on the go, this weekend.
IFSA JR Freeski / Freeride Event
Our annual JR Freeski / Freeride event takes place this weekend in the Far Chutes. While this area will be closed to the public, both Saturday and Sunday, pop over to High Rustler to check out these rippers in action!
Saturday –
- 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM – Late check-in / bib pick up
- 8:30 AM – Mandatory pre-event meeting for all athletes
- 9:30 AM – Tamarack (Red) Chair opens – all athletes to upload at this time
- 9:45 AM to 10:30 AM – Venue Inspection
- 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM – Qualifying Runs
- 5:00 PM – Results posted in Westcastle Lounge + Pizza reception for athletes / coaches
Sunday –
- 8:30 AM – Mandatory pre-event meeting for all athletes
- 9:30 AM – Tamarack (Red) Chair opens – all athletes to upload at this time
- 9:45 AM to 10:30 AM – Venue Inspection
- 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM – Finals
- 4:00 PM – Awards presented outside the T-Bar Pub
TGR’s Rogue Elements (Saturday @ 7 PM – Daylodge)
Join us for a special showing of TGR’s Rogue Elements. The show will start near 7 PM and entrance is available by donation. Join the TGR team as they embark on an adventure filled with fury and glory, and witness the unimaginable. Presented by REI. All proceeds will go to support our Big Mountain / Freestyle Club.

Beats in the Base
Our spring, outdoor music series starts today with The Tumbleweeds. The festivities are centered around apres-ski, taking place outside the T-Bar Pub on the Huckleberry Stage. Check out the show between 2:30 and 5:30 PM and enjoy a burger and beer under the sun! Beats in the Base continues, each and every Saturday, through to the end of our season!
Scenic Snowcat Tour
A few seats remain on our Scenic Snowcat Tour for Saturday, departing from Guest Services at 3:45 PM. At only $79 / adult or $59 / child, this experience involves a scenic chairlift ride up the Huckleberry Chair, a ride in Castle’s Powder Stagecoach snowcat, and a food and beverage voucher! Saturday is shaping up to be a real beauty and you won’t want to miss out on the spectacular mountain vistas that this tour provides!

DJ Phenomenorm (Saturday – T-Bar Pub)
While it’s rare to see Saturday music in the T-Bar Pub, we’ve got DJ Phenomenorm playing for a special Saturday at Castle. Our friends from the U of C Ski & Snowboard are here this weekend and we thought we’d show them the best of Castle Mountain Resort. DJ Phenomenorm hits the T-Bar Pub at 10 PM.
