SUMMER OPERATIONS UPDATE

SUMMER OPERATIONS UPDATE

Summer has officially arrived in the Castle. Warm, sunny (and occassionally windy ) weather is here which makes it a great time to explore our area and get back to nature! With COVID-19 creating anything but normal circumstances, we thought we should share with you an update on our summer operations, to keep you in the loop with what’s going on!

T-Bar Pub Operations –

While the T-Bar Pub has been operation over the past couple of weekends, it’s clear that there just isn’t the traffic coming to our resort to justify it’s continued operation. In short, the T-Bar Pub will close for the remainder of the summer and fall with a scheduled re-opening of November 27, for the winter season. To everyone who has visited us over the past couple of weekends, to enjoy a burger, pizza, or beer, our sincerest THANK YOU!

Weddings –

Perhaps it goes without saying but all of our weddings, for the summer of 2020, have been cancelled. All of our guests impacted by a COVID-19 related event cancellation have either been re-scheduled to 2021 or have been refunded their deposits in full. We thank all of our couples for working with our team as we navigated this uncertain summer together.

Bookings are being accepted for 2021 weddings with only a few weekend dates remaining available. Information on weddings can be found by clicking here.

Huckleberry Festival –

There’s no easy way to say this, so we’re just going to say it – Huckleberry Festival is cancelled for 2020. Our team has discussed the possibility of running a “toned down” version of this festival but, with nearly every festival in Alberta having been cancelled this summer, running this event doesn’t feel responsible. The last thing we want to do is put at risk the health and safety of our staff, patrons, and community at large at this time. Huckleberry Festival will return, for it’s 25th rendition, August 27 – 29, 2021.

Hiking Trails –

Our hiking trails are open and will remain open for the duration of the summer – there is absolutely no cost associated with enjoying them. Please come prepared for a back-country experience as there are no services (food, beverage, or washrooms) currently available on site. Trails are generally well marked with more information, including photos and trail descriptions, available by clicking here.

Summer Camping –

We are open for summer camping – both for seasonal RV / trailer spots and for nightly RV / trailer camping! For those who wish to camp with us, a reservation is required prior to arrival (no walk-up site availability). For more information, please click over to the camping portion of our website. Please call our main office at 403-627-5101 or toll free at 888-SKI-TONS (754-8667) to make a reservation. Our Guest Services agents are available from 9 AM to 3 PM, Monday to Thursday.

Looking Forward To Winter –

Our entire resort team remains committed and hard at work readying our resort for our core, winter operations. While we understand that these decisions on summer operations will likely lead to some disappointment, our sights are firmly set on ensuring Castle Mountain Resort is well positioned financially and operationally for what we expect will be a superb ski / snowboard season.
